Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties ( JFS) has recognized Harrison Beverage with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern New Jersey Chapter’s 2013 Outstanding Corporation of the Year award. This honor is given to the business that “truly goes above and beyond to make a difference in our community.”

Harrison Beverage and the Harrison Matik families have been committed to strengthening and helping the community for decades, JSF said. Following Superstorm Sandy, Harrison Beverage delivered dozens of pallets of canned water to the agency, which filled a corner of the JFS boardroom from floor to ceiling, to help in the immediate relief efforts.

During the recovery period, Harrison Beverage representatives called JFS almost daily to ask what they could do to help or what items they could distribute to the community. Unannounced and unexpectedly, a Harrison truck pulled up to the JFS distribution center with boxes full of brand new sweatshirts and sweatpants. “This was a wonderful surprise and was perfect timing for many who had lost all of their clothing in the storm,” a JFS spokesperson said.

At a time when dollars are decreasing and need for services are increasing, the impact of having a strong supporter like Harrison Beverage in our community is vital. As a community advocate for many years, Harrison Beverage has enabled many organizations, such as JFS, to grow and serve individuals and families with much needed services and support. Harrison Beverage is proud to support various community organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, The First Tee and AtlantiCare.

“Harrison Beverage is always one of the first to ask how they can help and they never seek recognition for their charitable giving,” said JFS Executive Director Andrea Steinberg. “We are proud to see this well- deserved company recognized by the AFP as the 2013 Outstanding Corporation of the Year.”
