Kulp Scholar in Residence to Feature Father Dennis McManus
The Charlotte Kulp Scholar in ResidenceWeekend, a weekend devoted to study and enrichment, will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4 this year at Congregation Beth Judah in Ventnor. This will mark the 11th year that this event has been held at the synagogue, and is being chaired by Marcy Rosenthal.
Father Dennis McManus, a professor at Georgetown University for more than 15 years, will be the scholar offering education and insight into current theology attitudes regarding the theory and practice of interreligious dialogue.
Father McManus holds his doctorate from Drew University in historical theology and also teaches courses at Georgetown on the history of Christian- Jewish conflict and autobiography in the Holocaust.
He will speak Friday night on “Catholic Respect for Jews and Judaism.” On Shabbat morning his topic will be “Current Issues in Catholic- Jewish Relations in the United States.”
