JCC Swap a Book – Share a Tree
Tu B’Shevat is the day that marks the beginning of a “New Year for Trees.” This is the season in which the earliestblooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle. All January long, the Katz JCC is asking the community to bring in all ‘gently used’ or new books. These donated books will be ‘recycled’ into the community as part of the Katz JCC’s February Swap a Book & Share a Tree program. The books collected from the January book drive will be available for ‘swap’ in the lobby of the Katz JCC all February long in honor of Tu B’Shevat. Also, please stop by and inscribe your family’s environmentally friendly practices on the JCC Tu B’Shevat “Community Tree of Life”. The Katz JCC in conjunction with the Jewish National Fund (JNF) will be planting trees throughout the land of Israel in 2012. Purchasing a tree in honor of a loved one is a great “green” way to say Mazel Tov, Thank You or Congratulations! Trees are only $ 18 each and can be purchased at the Katz JCC front desk during the month of February. For more information about any of the JCC’s Tu B’Shevat programs, contact Josh Cutler, JCC program director at 822-1167, ext.138 or email JCutler@jccatlantic.org.
