Pinemere Camp Announces New Sports Programming and Facilities for the 2011
Pinemere Camp is excited to announce its engagement of Robert “ Bob” Bailey as its Athletic Director for its 2011 Summer Sports Program. Bob currently serves as the Athletic Director for the Pocono Mountain East High School and Junior High School. In that capacity, Bob is responsible for the sports programming for approximately 1,200 students between grades 7 and 12.
Bob began working with Pinemere in March in order to transform Pinemere’s sports program into a model of excellence in Jewish camping. Under Bob’s leadership, Pinemere will offer improved general sports instruction, together with threeday intensive sports clinics – including clinics in soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, lacrosse, football, softball, and wilderness survival – multiple times during the summer.
The clinics will be taught by professional coaches and allow campers to build their skill levels and learn more about the game of their choice. The golf clinic will take place at a local golf club, where lessons will be provided by a PGA-certified coach. Also new at Pinemere this summer will be the Sixers Summer Hoops Tour, a one- day basketball clinic run by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Bob commented that, “the changes are going to be exciting and dramatic. The kids are really going to enjoy the new coaching programs. We’re going to have a great new soccer program. On top of that, we’ll have visits from former Sixers legends.”
In addition to the extensive programming changes, Pinemere is pleased to announce extensive improvements to its sports facilities. Pinemere will introduce new soccer goals and related equipment this summer, as well as reconditioned softball, soccer and football fields.
According to Pinemere Executive Director Toby Ayash, “We recognize the need to offer sports programs and facilities that are competitive with specialty camps and other camp offerings. By taking these steps, we are raising the level of our sports programming in a new and exciting way. We look forward to our Pinemere campers returning to school in the fall having acquired new skills this summer at camp.” — Advertorial
