Mrs. Goldberg is Coming to ‘Visit‘
On Sunday evening, October 3, Mrs Goldberg is coming to pay our virtual community a visit when YOO-HOO, MRS GOLDBERG, will be locally premiered here in Atlantic County.
The Board of Jewish Education is sponsoring an evening presenting the new Aviva Kempner film that has stirred memories and awakened joyful thoughts about the years during the mid-20th century when Gertrude Berg delighted first radio and then TV audiences with her humor, her warmth and her love for life as a neighbor from Brooklyn to us all.
The program, being hosted at the Katz JCC, will also include a visit and a discussion led by our community’s, Mr. Entertainment, Pinky Kravitz. Pinky will reminisce about those very same early days in entertainment and the role that Gertrude Berg played in opening up radio and television to a ‘modern’ Jewish woman and mother.
Donation ticket costs are $15 each and may be reserved/ purchased by calling 822-1854 or by visiting the BJE on the second floor of the Katz JCC during regular office hours. Ticket sales will benefit the Scholarship Fund for teen Jewish education in our community.
