Sep. 3 — Fri. Beth Judah, Ventnor – Devotion By The Ocean at 6:00 p.m., with services on the beach at Newport Avenue, Ventnor, behind the Ventnor Library. Bring your own beach chair. We will provide challah, wine and cake/cookies. For more information, call Beth Judah at 822 7116 Ex. 101.

Sept. 4 –– Sat. Beth El Synagogue – Community Selichot Concert and Service put on by South Jersey Board of Rabbis and Cantors, featuring Cantors Goren, Averbakh and Myers and synagogue musicians. 9 p.m. No charge.

Sep. 5 –– Sun. Beth Judah Teens – A Car Wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. An affordable rate of $10 per car to go to scholarship money. Being held in conjunction with Chair Day at the synagogue to set up for the High Holidays.

Sep. 6 –– Mon. Beth Judah - Beth Judah teens will be holding a car wash for children’s scholarships. 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Teen volunteers needed. Come out to support this good cause.

Sep. 7 –– Tue. ORT – Board Meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the Jewish Family Services 607 Jorome Ave., Margate.

Sep. 8 –– Wed. Chabad – A Rosh Hashana dinner at the Chabad Ventnor Shul, 6412 Ventnor Ave. Ventnor, at 7:45 p.m. Chabad promises an evening of inspiration, good food, songs, great company and festive holiday spirit.

Participants will enjoy a delicious three-course traditional Rosh Hashana dinner including apples and honey, new fruits from Israel as well as challa, salads, gefilte fish, chicken soup, kugels, chicken and more.

The cost is $26 per person. RSVP a must by Sept. 6. Services will begin at 6:45 p.m. and dinner will be at 7:45 p.m.

Sep. 8 –– Wed. The Herman Pogachefsky Senior Services Pavilion– Traditional, kosher holiday luncheon in celebration of Rosh Hashanah, at 12 noon. The meal is provided by Seashore Gardens Living Center. Please call Gail at 345- 3057 for more information.

Sep. 12 –– Sun. The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at the Richard Stockton College of NJ announces the Mitzvah Zecher Avot Cemetery Service for Holocaust survivors and their families at 11 a.m. For further information, contact The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at the Richard Stockton College of NJ, 652-4699.

Sep. 13 –– Mon. The MAPS – "Aloha Hawaiian Luncheon" in the Trump Taj Mahal Ballroom at 11:30 a.m. Tickets $40/members and $45/ nonmembers. Admission includes parking, lunch, Hawaiian music and dancing and a fashion show. For information, call Rose Silverman at 823-9093.

Sep. 18 –– Sat. Beth El – Professor Judith Vogel will speak on the subject, “Children of the Holocaust at Beth El at 5:45 pm during the metrology portion of the Yom Kippur service.

Sep. 19 –– Sun. Beth Judah Youth Group – A registration afternoon, at 1 p.m. on the Newport Avenue Beach, Ventnor. Games and snacks for children. This will be a family event as Beth Judah Youth Group is for children of all ages. Beth Judah Youth Groups are open to all Jewish children from 2nd to 12th grade.

Sep. 19 ––Sun. Beth Judah Temple in Wildwood – Pizza in the Hut in their Sukkah! They will be making pizzas and singing songs. This event is free for members and $5 for non-members. For more information please call the office at 522-7541. The office is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Sep. 21 — Tue. ORT – General Meeting at 11:30, at the Congregation Beth Judah 700 Swarthmore Ave., Ventnor.

Sep. 22 — Wed. Brith Sholom Seashore Lodge – Trip to Baltimore. An all-day, all–inclusive trip to the National Landmark, Baltimore Harbor. A visit to the world–famous National Aquarium, including admission to several shows and performances. The cost for the day is $85 per person.For reservations, call Elaine Levin at 487-9998.

Sep. 26 — Sun. ORT – Trip to Surflight Theater, Beach Haven. Irving Berlin’s “The Melody Lingers On.” $65 includes show, lunch and transportation. For information and to RSVP call Maxine at 487- 1478.

Sep. 29 –– Wed. Golda Meir Hadassah – At its first luncheon meeting of the fall season, Golda Meir Hadassah will present Bethanie Gorny, who will discuss her first novel, "Fridays with Eva: Caring and Learning from My Mother-in-Law, a Holocaust Survivor," at Beth El Synagogue. Mini-lunch at 11:30 a.m. is $3. Reservations a must. Call Ruth Kleiner, 822-5370.

Oct. 12 –– Tue. ORT – Paid Up Membership, Honor, Donor Luncheon, at the Linwood Country Club. Cost $35 Call Rose 822-9093.

Oct. 13 –– Wed. Temple Emeth Shalom – A day trip to New York City. The bus leaves the Temple at 8501 Ventnor Ave., Margate at 8 a.m., returning from New York at 5 p.m. Cost is $35. Call Bebe Markman, 822-5682, for reservations and information.

Oct. 24 — Sun. The Board of Jewish Education – Odyssey 2010: a cultural ‘shuk’ of Jewish education classes to cover an array of social and Judaica interest topics. Hosted at the Katz JCC in Margate. Registration, at a new time this year, 11:15 a.m., and light brunch with classes beginning at noon until 3 pm. For information and to register, call the BJE at 822-1854.

Nov. 7 — Sun. Board of Jewish Education – WORLDWIDE DAY OF JEWISH LEARNING celebrating Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz's 45 year long effort to translate the Talmud. Local synagogue and community efforts to recognize and honor this event will be held. Coordinated by the Board of Jewish Education. Call for information at 822-1854.
