Chabad Unveils a New Three-Part High Holiday Course
Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport
The course will be presented by Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport and will be held three Sundays at the Chabad Ventnor Shul, 6412 Ventnor Ave., Ventnor, beginning Sept. 5 at 10:15 a.m. The cost is $36 per person for the entire course.
“This is a wonderful way to bring meaning and insight into the High Holiday season” says Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport. “In fact, we are so confident that you will enjoy this course ... the first lesson will be offered at no charge to those who wish to sample it.
The first lesson, “Reaching Upward, Inward and Outward,” will teach how to best prepare for the High Holiday of Rosh Hashanah by connecting to the three foundational pillars of Judaism: Torah study, Divine worship, and acts of kindness. Additionally, we will clarify what it means when Kaballah tells us to reveal Divine infinity within the finite creation.
The second lesson, “Unveiling the Essential Oneness of Life,” will explore the themes of atonement and repentance in general, and how they interact in a very special way on Yom Kippur in particular. Additionally, we will delve into the differences between various types of teshuvah/repentance and see what they accomplish in terms of rectifying and then erasing a person’s transgressions.
The third lesson, “Experiencing the Joy of Jewish Unity,” will teach us how to experience true joy and how it is only possible through unity.
All Chabad programs are open to the entire Jewish community and all are welcome to attend regardless of Jewish affiliation, background or knowledge. For more information call 822-8500 ext. 2 or visit www.chabadac.com.
