Members of the Cantors Assembly who attended a mission to Poland and Israel in 2009 will be featured in a full-length documentary movie at the Regal Hamilton Theater in Mays Landing, on Tuesday, Sept 21, at 7 p.m. The trip features services they conducted at Auschwitz as well as concerts in Warsaw, Krakow, and across Israel.

The first part, shot on location in Poland, “100 Voices: A Journey Home,” follows a passionate and charismatic collection of singers through their emotional journey to the birthplace of cantorial music. Sponsored by the Cantors Assembly, the tour paid tribute to more than 1,300 professional cantors who perished during the Holocaust.

A Cantors Assembly spokesperson said, “We hope you will join us on Sept. 21 when “100 Voices: A Journey Home” inspires viewers of all cultures and generations to experience this touching story exploring the Jewish culture that helped produce one of the most artistic, educated societies in all of Europe.”

Locally, Congregation Beth Judah Hazzan Jeffrey Myers and Beth El Synagogue alumna Cantor Arianne Slack Brown are featured in the movie.

Tickets are available at the Regal Theater or online: http://www.fathomevents.com/originalprograms/event/ 100voices.aspx To see the trailer, go to http://www.100voicesmovie.com.
