The Jewish Federation of Atlantic and Cape May Counties exceeded their goals for the 2nd Annual It’s A Mitzvah! Food Drive due to the generous contributions of community members, businesses and volunteers. The month long project is a true affirmation of community involvement.

More than 1,000 pounds. and a trailer load of food were delivered to the Community Food Bank and the Jewish Family Service Food Pantry, and hundreds of healthy snacks were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City for students involved in after school programs.

In addition, dozens of volunteers participated in making 1,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.

The project committee members – Joyce Bank, Susan Lutz, Stephanie Lutz-Lock, Gail Mackler-Carlino, and Gayle & Hank Winkler – thanked oll of the sponsors, contributors, and the many volunteers who helped so many needy families in our community.
