Adult Education with Rabbi Aaron Krauss

Beth El has begun a Sunday morning study of the Kazari following the 9 am service. In addition Rabbi Krauss refers to an excellent new book by Hilel Halkin on Yehuda Halevi, one of the most influential books of Jewish religious thought. Haevi lived nearly all of his life in Spain and is believed to have died in 1141. The scene of the Kuzari dialogue was set several centuries earlier. In it, the King of Khazarsa in Southern Russia is in the process of learning about Judaism and eventually converts. The King dialogues with a Rabbi, whose opinions reflect those actually held by Holevi. All are welcome to attend.

Cantor Ralph Goren will have ongoing Adult Education classes on Thursday morning's beginning at 10 am. There will also be a Talmud class beginning at 11 am. All are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact 823-2725.
