Aug. 6 –– Fri. The Katz JCC of Margate – A free community-Shabbat show with the Tzofim Scouts at 6:30 p.m. Performing in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish, these Tzofim Scouts appear in uniforms, Middle Eastern garb, festive blue-and-white outfits and in attire characteristic of shtetl life.

Aug. 13 –– Fri. Temple Beth Shalom – The Hahn family and the Friends of the Rabbi Sanford Hahn Memorial Lecture cordially invite you to an evening with Rabbi Michael Monson, to be held at 8:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom, 45th and Brigantine Avenue. Aug. 15 –– Sun. Chabad – Kosher BBQ and entertainment aboard the Crystal Queen. Sails from Trump Marina Dock E at 2 p.m. Boarding time 1:30 p.m. Returns at 4 p.m. Cruises back bays of Atlantic City. $22 adults, $18 children. 822- 8500 or chabadac@gmail.com.

Aug. 15 — Sun. Beth Judah Temple – Shofar Factory and open house BBQ at the temple on Spencer and Pacific avenues in Wildwood. $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Includes food and a shofar to take home. 522-7541. Office open Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Aug. 19 — Thu. Temple Emeth Shalom Chavurah – Trip to Surflight Theater, Beach Haven, to see "Cabaret." $65 per person. Includes lunch, round-trip bus transportation and show. Call Bebe Markman, 822-5682.

Aug. 21 - Sat. Emeth Shalom – Parade of Horses Derby. Six races. Doors open at 7 p.m. Post Time 7:30 p.m. Free admission. Donations accepted. Desserts. Under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 822-4543.

Aug. 22 –– Sun. Beth Judah Temple in Wildwood – 19th Annual Raffle and Grand Buffet Brunch starts at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $100 each for Raffle. The grand prize is $10,000; 2nd and 3rd prizes are $1,250. Only 250 tickets will be sold. Tickets to the Grand Buffet are $10.50 for adults, $6 for children under 12. Children under 6 are free. Sept. 13 –– Mon. The MAPS – "Aloha Hawaiian Luncheon" in the Trump Taj Mahal Ballroom at 11:30 a.m. Tickets $40/members and $45/ nonmembers. Brith Sholom Seashore Lodge – Trip to Baltimore. An all-day, all–inclusive trip to the National Landmark, Baltimore Harbor. Oct. 24 — Sun. The Board of Jewish Education – Odyssey 2010: a cultural ‘shuk’ of Jewish education classes to cover an array of social and Judaica interest topics. Hosted at the Katz JCC in Margate. Registration, at a new time this year, 11:15 a.m., and light brunch with classes beginning at noon until 3 pm. For information and to register call the BJE at 822-1854.

Nov. 7— Sun. Global Day of Jewish Learning – Sponsored locally by the Board of Jewish Education and hosted by individual synagogues. Join in as communities around the world share a day of Jewish dialogue and exploration in celebration of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz’s completion of 40 years of work on his monumental translation & commentary on the Talmud.
