Beth Judah of Wildwood Shofar Factory and BBQ
Beth Judah Temple, Spencer and Pacific Avenues, in Wildwood, will be having a Shofar Factory on Aug. 15 at 11:30 a.m., followed by an open house BBQ. The event is $10 for members and $15 for non members, which includes a shofar to take home and BBQ food.

5th Annual Kosher Cruise set to Sail
The fifth annual Kosher Cruise is scheduled to set sail from Trump Marina in Atlantic City on Sunday Aug. 15. at 2 p.m. Those on board will get a scenic excursion of the back bays of Atlantic City while enjoying a delicious kosher BBQ and entertainment.
"The event is geared for the whole family and we hope to attract people from all segments of the community," said Tad Stern, captain of the Crystal Queen and sponsor of the event. "The kosher cruise is a perfect opportunity to combine family fun with Jewish unity," said Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport, event organizer. "People may come from many different backgrounds and traditions, but when it comes to food we all have something in common."
There will be entertainment as well as live music on board, and the event is open to the public. The Crystal Queen is scheduled to sail from Trump Marina's Dock E at 2 p.m. and boarding will begin at 1:30 p.m. The boat will return at 4 p.m. The cost is $22 for adults and $18 for children. Kosher hot dogs and hamburgers will be sold. The program is being organized by Chabad at the Shore, dedicated to ensuring the continuity of Jewish heritage and culture. Emeth Shalom has Derby Time
Temple Emeth Shalom, at 8501 Ventnor Avenue in Margate, will present the second annual Temple Derby on Saturday, Aug. 21. Doors open at 7 p.m. and Post Time is 7:30 p.m.
The popular "Parade of Horses" will feature eight horses who will run in six races. The horses will be named and dressed in original outfits by their sponsors. Free admission. Desserts will be offered. Donations accepted.
All ages are invited, however, those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For information, call 822-4543.
Trip to Baltimore Harbor
Brith Sholom Seashore Lodge, is sponsoring an all-day, all- inclusive trip to the National Landmark Baltimore Harbor on Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
The day will start with a visit to Ft. McHenry, where the Star Spangled Banner was written. This will be followed by a complete buffet lunch at Philips Seafood. The highlight of the trip will be a visit to the worldfamous National Aquarium, including free admission to several shows and performances.

Seashore Gardens Annual Gala
Seashore Gardens Foundation's Annual Gala will honor Mac and Kay Seelig, and Dean L. Scarpa for outstanding leadership and community service, at the Living Center, 22 W. Jimmie Leeds Rd., Galloway Township, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 6:30 p.m.

Surflight Theater Trip

Aloha Hawaiian Luncheon
The MAPS Foundation of South Jersey will present "Aloha Hawaiian Luncheon" in the Trump Taj Mahal Ballroom on Sept. 13, at 11:30 a.m.
Tickets are $40 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Admission includes parking, lunch (salad, grilled chicken or Mahi-Mahi, dessert and beverage) Hawaiian music and dancing and a fashion show by White House-Black Market and Lou Marchiano's Men’s Shop that will be modeled by TV-40 newscasters.

Tzofim Friendship Caravan at the Katz JCC
The Katz JCC of Margate will offer a free community–Shabbat show with the Tzofim Scouts on Friday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 p.m. The Friendship Caravan consists of a traveling group of 10 Tzofim (Israel Scouts) who crisscross North America each summer as emissaries, sharing their lives in Israel through song, dance and story.
Their show from Israel, “The Friendship Caravan,” consists of a mix of Israeli song, dance, stories and images designed to bring Israeli culture to American audiences. Helping Americans connect with Israel in this way is a thirty-year tradition among the Scouts.
Performing in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish, these Tzofim Scouts perform in uniforms, Middle Eastern garb, festive blue-and-white outfits and in attire characteristic of shtetl life.
Beth Judah of Wildwood's Annual Raffle and Grand Buffet Brunch
Beth Judah Temple in Wildwood is having its 19th Annual Raffle. Tickets are $100 each. The grand prize is $10,000; 2nd and 3rd prizes are $1,250. Only 250 tickets will be sold.
The drawing will take place at the temple's Grand Buffet Brunch on Sunday, Aug. 22 at 12 noon.
The Grand Buffet will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets to the Grand Buffet are $10.50 for adults, $6 for children under 12. Children under 6 are free.

Visitors Invited to Temple Beth Shalom
All visitors and summer residents are invited to attend services at Temple Beth Shalom, Brigantine's Little Shul by the Sea.
Temple Beth Shalom is a Conservative Synagogue led by Rabbi Gerald R. Fox. Services are held every Friday evening at 8 p.m., followed by an Oneg Shabbat. In addition, services are held on the second Saturday of every month at 10 a.m., followed by a Kiddush.

Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer And Heart Fund
RNS Celebration Run 2010. Join us for a day of fun while taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful Jersey Shore on Saturday, August 28th beginning at the Sport and Civic Center Building at 5th Street and the Boardwalk in Ocean City. We will be hosting a 5k run and walk, as well as a kids 1 mile fun run.
Registration runs from 6:30 a.m. -7:45 a.m. with the race commencing at 8:00 a.m. and the walk immediately following. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers as well as the top three in each age group. Pre-registration ($20) before August 14th entitles you to an official Celebration Run t-shirt. Day of the event registrants ($25) will receive t-shirts as supplies last. The Fifth Annual Rabbi Hahn Memorial Lecture
The Hahn family and the Friends of the Rabbi Sanford Hahn Memorial Lecture cordially invite you to an evening with Rabbi Michael Monson, to be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom, 45th and Brigantine Avenue. Rabbi Monson teaches Bible, Talmud and Religious Thought at the Solomon Schechter Day School in West Orange, N.J. His eclectic career includes twenty years of service in Hillel work on various university campuses including the University of Pennsylvania, President of the Foundation for Masorti (Conservative) Judaism in Israel, Executive Vice President and Publisher at the Jewish Publication Society, and service as a congregational rabbi. He is a graduate of the Boston Latin School, Lehigh University, The Jewish Theological Seminary, and the University of Florida. Rabbi Monson feels extremely proud to be asked to remember and celebrate the life of one of his dearest colleagues, Rabbi Sandy Hahn. Refreshments will follow the Shabbat service and the talk.
