ROSLYN SAILOR

We mourn the passing of Roslyn Sailor, daughter of William and Betty Malis, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, aged 80. She leaves behind her three loving sons, Adam, Joshua, and Matthew, and her seven cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Noa, Yarden, Ariel, Zachary, Sophia, and Alexander.

Roslyn was an innovative designer of unique jewelry, who along with her loving husband Alex, enjoyed many years creating sensuous, abstract art forms of gold and gemstones for their boutique shops in located in Philadelphia and Palm Beach. A true trailblazer of the custom jewelry world – film and music stars, royalty, and heads of state, including U.S. President Richard Nixon, have had the pleasure of owning her creations.

In 1985 Roslyn and Alex left the jewelry world to enjoy their life-long passion of the arts by operating an art gallery located in Margate, New Jersey that cultivated and featured artists that inspired and moved them. Even following the loss of her husband of 40 years in 1994, Roslyn continued to be active in the arts and philanthropy until her passing on this July 7th, 2010.

Without exaggeration, it can be said that Roslyn was very much loved and respected by all who knew her. Unpretentious, open-hearted, caring and wise, she leaves a legacy of kindness and inspiration for us all.

Roslyn was an honored Chairman of the Atlantic County Chapter of American Associates, Ben-Gurion University (AABGU). Contributions in Roslyn’s honor/memory can be made to American Associates, Ben Gurion University (AABGU), Box 1128, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
