The David Project Trains Teachers for Israel Curriculum

Teachers from around the country convened in New York for an intensive training seminar designed to enable educators to effectively utilize The David Project's groundbreaking Israel curriculum in their schools.
The distinguished contingent, the largest ever for a David Project Teacher Training Institute, included local educator,
Susan Weis, from The High School of Jewish Studies of the Board of Jewish Education. Ms. Weis participated in a day-long seminar focused on the place of Israel in Jewish identity and the importance of articulating the Jewish connection to Israel.
This curriculum, "Israel in Jewish Identity is supported by the Avi Chai Foundation and is currently utilized by more than 100 Jewish schools across North America. Educators teaching this curriculum receive ongoing support, updated resources and other assistance to enhance their classroom activities.
Todd Young, The David Project's Director of Education, noted that the commitment, dedication and knowledge of these participants were extraordinary. This curriculum is part of the organization's long-term strategy to populate college campuses with educated, skilled and confident supporters of Israel. Locally The David Project l1th grade class at The High School of Jewish Studies is taught by Cantor Edmond Kulp who has been the lead instructor on this important advocacy class for students soon heading to college.
