Beth Judah Summer Fun 2010
What better place for your two- to six-year–old to spend the mornings, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from now through August 5, than Congregation Beth Judah’s Early Learning Center SUMMER FUN 2010!! There is something for every child to enjoy and learn. Two-year- olds have a choice of a two-day or three-day-a-week program. Three-to-six-year-olds have a choice of four hours or six hours a week. You do not have to be a member to enroll your child/grandchild in this exciting interactive program. Please call for information at 822- 7116.
Trip to Baltimore Harbor
Brith Sholom Seashore Lodge, is sponsoring an all-day, all- inclusive trip to the National Landmark Baltimore Harbor on Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
The day will start with a visit to Ft. McHenry, where the Star Spangled Banner was written. This will be followed by a complete buffet lunch at Philips Seafood. The highlight of the trip will be a visit to the world-famous National Aquarium, including free admission to several shows and performances.

Israeli Dancing Continues at Beth Judah, Ventnor
On Wednesday evenings, Iris Levy Smith is teaching Israeli Dancing at Beth Judah, Ventnor. The class begins at 7:00 pm. The course is six weeks; however, you can join us at any time. Aloha Hawaiian Luncheon
The MAPS Foundation of South Jersey will present "Aloha Hawaiian Luncheon" in the Trump Taj Mahal Ballroom on Sept. 13, at 11:30 a.m.

Tzofim Friendship Caravan at the Katz JCC
The Katz JCC of Margate will offer a free community- Shabbat show with the Tzofim Scouts on Friday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 p.m. The Friendship Caravan consists of a traveling group of 10 Tzofim (Israel Scouts) who crisscross North America each summer as emissaries, sharing their lives in Israel through song, dance and story.
Their show from Israel, “The Friendship Caravan,” consists of a mix of Israeli song, dance, stories and images designed to bring Israeli culture to American audiences. Helping Americans connect with Israel in this way is a thirty-year tradition among the Scouts.
Performing in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish, these Tzofim Scouts perform in uniforms, Middle Eastern garb, festive blue-and-white outfits, and in attire characteristic of shtetl life.
Beth Judah of Wildwood's Annual Raffle and Grand Buffet Brunch
Beth Judah Temple in Wildwood is having its 19th Annual Raffle. Tickets are $100 each. The grand prize is $10,000; 2nd and 3rd prizes are $1,250. Only 250 tickets will be sold.
The drawing will take place at the temple's Grand Buffet Brunch on Sunday, Aug. 22 at 12 noon.
The Grand Buffet will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets to the Grand Buffet are $10.50 for adults, $6 for children under 12. Children under 6 are free.

Surflight Theater Trip
Temple Emeth Shalom Chavurah is sponsoring a trip to see "Cabaret" in Beach Haven on Thursday, August 19. Cost of the trip is $65 per person, including lunch, round-trip bus transportation and the show. For information and reservations, contact Bebe Markman, 822-5682.
Visitors Invited to Temple Beth Shalom
All visitors and summer residents are invited to attend services at Temple Beth Shalom, Brigantine's Little Shul by the Sea.
Temple Beth Shalom is a Conservative Synagogue led by Rabbi Gerald R. Fox. Services are held every Friday evening at 8 p.m., followed by an Oneg Shabbat. In addition, services are held on the second Saturday of every month at 10 a.m., followed by a Kiddush.

Beth El Going Green Festivities
Beth El will be celebrating “Going Green” with the new Solar Energy System. The festivities begin at the synagogue on Sunday, July 25, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Crash Course in Hebrew at Temple Emeth Shalom
Temple Emeth Shalom, 8501 Ventnor Ave., Margate, is holding a free Crash Course in Reading Hebrew at the temple beginning Wednesday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m.
Five 1/2-hour weekly classes will be held free for temple members and a nominal fee of $25 for non-members. You'll be able to pray in the original by reading Hebrew in time for Rosh Hashanah. To register, call the temple office 822-4343.
Seashore Gardens Annual Gala
Seashore Gardens Foundation's Annual Gala will honor Mac and Kay Seelig, and Dean L. Scarpa for outstanding leadership and community service, at the Living Center, 22 W. Jimmie Leeds Rd., Galloway Township, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 6:30 p.m.

Beth Judah, Ventnor, Holding A Tu B’Av Coffeehouse

Ernest Paul to Speak at Beth El
Beth El Synagogue will have a special guest speaker at Saturday morning services beginning at 9 am. The speaker will be holocaust survivor, Ernest Paul.
Paul will be speaking about his life’s experiences during the Holocaust. His story is moving and remarkable. Everyone is welcome to attend and hear his inspirational story. Following the service will be a kiddish and Paul will be available to answer any questions.
Shaloma Hadassah 6th Annual 5k Run/2 Mile Walk
Shaloma Hadassah is sponsoring its 6th annual 5k run and 2 mile walk on the Atlantic City Boardwalk on Sunday morning, Aug. 1. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. in front of the Hilton on Boston avenue and the Boardwalk.
The run, which is officially timed, will begin at 7:30 and go towards Resorts. The walk goes towards Ventnor.
Prizes will be awarded in different age categories for the runners. All participants will receive a T-shirt, water and fruit. Proceeds go to disadvantaged children and teens. Beth El Sisterhood Summer game days with lunch are back every Tuesday until Aug. 31. Time is 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $8 per person. There will be raffles and great door prizes. Bring your friends and make new ones. If you are looking for a game, we will try to accommodate you.

Congregation Beth Israel’s Friday Night Beach Service
Congregation Beth Israel of Northfield will hold a special Shabbat at the Shore on July 23rd on the beach at Huntington Avenue in Margate.
Rabbi David Weis and Cantor Larisa Averbakh will lead the service, which starts at 5:30 p.m. The service is open to the community. Participants are encouraged to bring beach chairs or a blanket. The Huntington Avenue beach is located behind the Margate Library. The service is an annual tradition at Congregation Beth Israel, which was the first area congregation to offer a service at the beach. The July 23rd service is one of two beach services the congregation will host this summer. Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer And Heart Fund
RNS Celebration Run 2010 Join us for a day of fun while taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful Jersey Shore on Saturday, August 28th beginning at the Sport and Civic Center Building at 5th Street and the Boardwalk in Ocean City. We will be hosting a 5k run and walk, as well as a kids 1 mile fun run.
Registration runs from 6:30 a.m. -7:45 a.m. with the race commencing at 8:00 a.m. and the walk immediately following. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers as well as the top three in each age group. Pre-registration ($20), before August 14th , entitles you to an official Celebration Run t-shirt. Day of the event registrants ($25) will receive t-shirts as supplies last. The Fifth Annual Rabbi Hahn Memorial Lecture
The Hahn family and the Friends of the Rabbi Sanford Hahn Memorial Lecture cordially invite you to an evening with Rabbi Michael Monson, to be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom, 45th and Brigantine Avenue. Rabbi Monson teaches Bible, Talmud and Religious Thought at the Solomon Schechter Day School in West Orange, NJ. His eclectic career includes twenty years of service in Hillel work on various university campuses including the University of Pennsylvania, President of the Foundation for Masorti (Conservative) Judaism in Israel, Executive Vice President and Publisher at the Jewish Publication Society, and service as a congregational rabbi. He is a graduate of the Boston Latin School, Lehigh University, The Jewish Theological Seminary, and the University of Florida. Rabbi Monson feels extremely proud to be asked to remember and celebrate the life of one of his dearest colleagues, Rabbi Sandy Hahn. Refreshments will follow the Shabbat service and the talk. Cantorial Concert
Cantors representing a broad range of cantorial associations will perform at Beth Israel on Sunday evening Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. There will be members of the Reform American Association of Cantors, the Conservative Cantors Assembly and a cameo appearance by the Jewish Educators Assembly.
