Katz JCC Welcomes Author Of “Zlata’s Diary”

The Katz JCC welcomed Zlata Filipovic, the author of “Zlata’s Diary,” written between 1991 and 1993 about the siege of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by Serb forces during the Bosnian war, which has been translated in more than thirty languages. Zlata also wrote the preface to “Milosevic: The Peoples Tyrant” and the foreword to “The Freedom Writers Diary.” Most recently, she co-edited “Stolen Voices: Young People’s War Diaries, From World War I To Iraq.” As a child survivor of the Balkans War, she spoke to a standing room only capacity crowd at Stockton College. This program was sponsored by Donald and Nan (Chipkin) Berkman and was presented by the Katz JCC, the Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center And Stockton College.
