Jacob Reses to Speak at BJE Program
Jacob Reses, son of Karen and Stephen Reses of Linwood, will deliver the keynote address at the Board of Jewish Education’s upcoming High School of Jewish Studies Graduation and Awards program on Tuesday evening, May 4. The program will be hosted at Beth El Synagogue in Margate and is open to the community.
Reses, a student at Princeton University, Class of 2013, completed his studies at the BJE’s teen program, the High School of Jewish Studies, in 2008 and graduated as valedictorian at Mainland Regional High School in 2009.
At Princeton University Reses, who is majoring in politics, has become very active in “Tigers for Israel,” the school’s pro-advocacy group for Israel, and now serves as treasurer of the organization. Earlier this month, he organized “Tigers for Israel’s” trip to Washington, which sent 19 students to lobby 37 members of the House and Senate regarding Iran sanctions and foreign aid to Israel.
Reses’s background also includes having interned in the campaigns for Senator John Kerry and Senator Hillary Clinton. This summer he will return to Washington to intern at Tucker Carlson’s website, “The Daily Caller.” While attending Princeton and looking forward to participating in a program in Washington, D.C., again this summer, he has also remained active in local politics, working on behalf of Mainland’s school budget by creating a Facebook page to promote absentee voting by Mainland alumni.
