The Milton and Betty Katz JCC held its annual Abe Huberman Memorial Golf Tournament at Linwood Country Club on Wednesday, April 21. The tournament, which honors one of our community’s finest members, Abe Huberman, provides financial assistance for families in need to have their children attend Pre- School and Camp-By-The Sea.
Sponsors of the event, which was a huge success, included Cooper Levenson Attorneys At Law, Gail and Chuck Carlino and Starkman Distributors. The JCC reported that “There were great prizes, fantastic golf and a great atmosphere to honor Abe’s legacy. The only thing that could have helped was a little less rain. That did not slow this group down. Everyone braved the elements and stayed for a fabulous auction after golf.”
The dinner portion featured a live auction with all inclusive trips to Jamaica, suites at Flyers, Sixers and Phillies games, Yankees tickets and Final Four tickets. There was also a raffle where players won dinners at the area’s top restaurants, golf equipment and numerous other prizes.
Each year the Huberman memorial golf event provides a “great atmosphere to play golf and have fun, but more importantly provides a service to a very worthy cause.” For more information about the Abe Huberman Golf Classic or the JCC, call Brian Barry at 822-1167, Ext. 121.
