Beth Israel Honors Susan Sokalsky For 25 Years of Service
Congregation Beth Israel is holding a special Shabbat service and Oneg on Friday, May 7th to honor longtime Administrator Susan Sokalsky on her 25th Anniversary.
Known as “the heart of Beth Israel,” Susan oversees the daily activities at the synagogue. For the past 25 years, the congregation says, she has played an integral role at the synagogue in a variety of ways.
“She manages weekly services, and many programs such as visiting scholar weekends, special events, and the High Holidays. She works closely with the rabbi, the cantor, the entire program staff, as well as the board of directors and committee members.
“She is the voice of the synagogue to longtime members, new congregants and those considering affiliation. Susan aids people through every significant occasion in their lives, both joyous and sad. She supervises the administrative and facilities staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.”
Susan resides in Margate with her husband Michael.
The Shabbat service will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by a special Oneg Shabbat in Susan’s honor. Congregation Beth Israel is located at 2501 Shore Road in Northfield. The community is invited to join the special service.
