It’s Brooklyn for the ‘Great Parade’ Honoring Lag B’omer
In honor of the Jewish Holiday of Lag B’omer, the community is invited to take a bus trip to Brooklyn, to participate in the Great Parade on Sunday, May 2nd.
Tens of thousands of Jewish children and families from at least 11 states will join together for a spectacular parade, concert and day-long festivities in Brooklyn.
The parade will be lead off with a U.S. Army marching band, followed by clown motorcades, school marching bands and floats, international musicians and the Nerveless Nocks motorbike hi-wire stunt troupe. An outdoor concert with Jewish entertainers and singers will be part of day-long festivities that will include a petting zoo, street fair, carnival rides and kosher concessions.
“Participating in the parade with thousands of Jewish people will give you a unique sense of Jewish pride” says trip organizer Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport of Chabad. “It will be an experience that you won’t forget.”
A bus/van will be leaving from Chabad House in Margate (8223 Fulton Ave.) on Sunday, May 2nd at 7:15 a.m. The bus will also make a stop at the Trocki Jewish Day School to pick up mainland residents at 7:30 a.m.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. followed by a Jewish street fair at 12 p.m. The group will depart Brooklyn at 5 p.m. and return at 8 p.m. The cost for the trip is $36 for adults and $18 for children.
