On Wednesday, April 21, the Katz JCC will hold its annual Milton & Betty Katz JCC Abe Huberman Memorial Golf Classic at the Linwood Country Club.

The mission of the Golf Classic is to raise funds for the Katz JCC Children’s Scholarship Program. Each year the program assists families in need – specifically with scholarships to enable children to attend preschool and/or summer camp at the Katz JCC in Margate.
Three years ago, Abe Huberman suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in his sleep. He was the father of three sons, Rob, Mitch and Brad, and was married to his wife Rae for 55 years. Born in New York City, Abe was a Margate resident for the past 51 years. Two words that describe Abe Huberman are “family” and “golf”. When not at work or home, Abe could most likely be found either at Linwood Country Club or at the JCC, where he had been chairman of the annual fundraising golf tournament for the past several years. Now named in his honor, the Milton & Betty Katz JCC Abe Huberman Memorial Golf Classic, presented by the Katz JCC celebrates Abe’s love of family, sports and the JCC community. His three sons are committed to honoring his memory and his dedication to the community, creating a legacy in his name. Well known for his unconditional generosity, Abe lived by the saying: “What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others remains and is immortal.” This event promises to be the most successful – and most enjoyable – premier charity golf classic in the Atlantic City area, benefiting children and families in and around the local community.
