Congregation Beth Judah in Ventnor had a successful Purim basket fundraiser. Gift baskets were distributed to members of Beth Judah and to their college students as part of the celebration of Purim. Gift baskets were donated to The Jewish Family Service in Margate, to Gilda’s Club South Jersey in Linwood, and to H.O.P.E. Community Cancer Center, in Marmora. The H.O.P.E. Center, one of the many oncology centers in Southern New Jersey, received nutritional, easy-to-digest cookies and crackers, and hand creams. All items were selected especially for the patients currently receiving chemotherapy.

Gilda’s Club, which offers free memberships to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their families, received similar items. They also received coupons for nutritious, organic snacks and for discounts at a local salon. Donations to Noogieland, the children’s program at Gilda’s Club, received kid-friendly cookies and chocolates, as well.
