Shaloma Hadassah Hosts JNF Speaker
Geri Shatz
Shaloma Hadassah has extended a community-wide invitation to hear the Jewish National Fund’s Geri Shatz speak at the Katz JCC of Margate on Wednesday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m.
Shatz, chair of the Sapphire Society of the Jewish National Fund, is the incoming president of JNF’s Bucks County region. She is the daughter of Holocaust escapees who fled Vienna as teenagers and made a new life in the United States. The commitment to democracy and the mitzvot of tzedakah and tikkum olam continues to form the ethos of her home.
Shatz was president of Congregation Kol Emet, a Reconstructionist synagogue, when it first opened the doors of its own home in December 2000, and also has served for many years on the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Bucks County Region.
She is a graduate of Tufts University and the University of Pennsylvania, with degrees in art history, and is the author of “Concepts of the Bauhaus.” Following a change in career accomplished with a degree in accounting and finance from the College of New Jersey, her accounting work specializes in the needs of the elderly.
She also serves in an advisory capacity to two life care communities in Bucks County.
