The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Unveils Kosher Pantry and Glatt Kosher Food Program
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has opened its new Kosher Pantry and announced that Glatt kosher food items will now be available for purchase.
Located adjacent to Children’s Hospital’s main cafeteria, the Kosher Pantry is a specifically designated room where families who keep kosher can store, prepare and eat their food, and browse a selection of reading materials. In addition, Children’s Hospital now offers a new line of kosher food options from Brooklyn-based Tuv Taam, available both in the inpatient setting through room service and for purchase in the outpatient setting at various locations throughout the hospital.
Tuv Taam was selected after an extensive search by Aramark who is the dedicated food vendor for Children’s Hospital. Tuv Taam is one of the largest manufacturers of kosher gourmet foods whose foods meet the highest in kashrus and USDA regulations.
“The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia strives to create the ideal patient experience for all of our patients and families in need of our care,” said Steven M. Altschuler, M.D., president and chief executive officer of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
“We are thrilled to make the Kosher Pantry and Glatt kosher food available to members of the Jewish community to better serve their needs.”
