GREENBERG, LEO (MAURICE)

Greenberg, Leo (Maurice) was born in Atlantic City in 1919 and resided in the Atlantic City area for his entire life. He worked as the manager of Hygrade Liquor Store for many years and was also the timekeeper at one of the area casinos. In recent years, he worked as a volunteer at the Jewish Older Adult Services.

Leo is most remembered for his good nature, generosity, loving kindness and joie de vivre. In his early years he loved fishing and boating. His two passions were traveling and bingo, where he made many friends.

Leo made numerous trips throughout the United States and around the world with other family members and loved and appreciated art and music. Leo collected stamps, books and memorabilia. He was interested in the world and an avid reader of the National Geographic Magazine.

Leo is survived by his devoted sister, Norma Shuster, sister-in-law, Sadie Greenberg, nieces, Sandy Shuster, Rickie Shuster and Carol Croll, along with nephews, Addison Shuster, Joel Greenberg and Eric Greenberg.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Beth Kehillah Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township. Contributions in Leo’s memory may be made to Beron-JOAS, 1102 Atlantic Ave., Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Arrangements were by ROTH-GOLDSTEINS’ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Atlantic City.
