Bay-Atlantic Concert Series ‘Rediscovers America’

Discover – and rediscover – the classical music of our American heritage at the Bay- Atlantic Symphony's next concert on January 29.

Entitled “Rediscovering America,” this program continues the orchestra’s popular intimate and unusual mid-winter concert format.

The performance will take place on Friday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m., at Rowan University’s Pfleeger Concert Hall, 201 Mullica Hill Rd., Glassboro.

The ticket price is $25, thanks to a generous investment from the PNC Arts Alive grant program.

The program, conducted by Music Director Jed Gaylin, opens with the Bay-Atlantic Symphony Brass Quintet performing music familiar to Americans from across the generations. Aaron Copland's beloved Appalachian Spring ballet, complete and in its original version, will be given in a world premiere dance performance choreographed by Joshua Bisset of Shua Group. Bisset will share brand new possibilities of interpreting the work, on top of the more abstract conception in Copland's original version.

All Bay-Atlantic Symphony performances will be preceded one hour prior to starting time with a “Pre-Concert Conversation with the Maestro.”

Tickets can be ordered by calling the Pfleeger Concert Hall box office at 856-256- 4545.
