Jewish Times Granted Nonprofit Status

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service has approved a Jewish Times application for tax exempt status, determining that the paper is now exempt from Federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

“We are pleased with the IRS determination, which means that as a nonprofit organization contributions to our newspaper now qualify as deductible,” said Jewish Times Publisher Shy Kramer. “Also, we are now qualified under the code to receive tax deductible bequests.”
