Beth Israel Congregation to Host MLK Commemorative Service

Beth Israel Congregation will commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday by hosting a special program at its Shabbat services on Friday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m., at the synagogue, 1015 E. Park Ave., Vineland.

The program will be led by Rabbi Alfredo S. Winter, spiritual leader of Beth Israel Congregation.

The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Cornell Brunson, spiritual leader of the Speak the Word Ministry Church, in Vineland. His address will be “Dr. King and His Timeless Message.

Other speakers will include Rev. Edward Adams and Pastor Ronald Walker of the Speak the Word Ministry Church.

Choral participation will be by the Beth Israel Congregation Choir and members of the Speak the Word Ministry Church.

“This program is an important part of building spiritual bridges between the faiths, and also among races and cultures,” Rabbi Winter said. “Dr. King stood for principles of civil rights and humanity that touch all of us. We aim to remember this great man and honor those principles for which he stood.”

Members of the community are invited. Refreshments will be served following the service.
