Jan. 8 — Fri. Guest Speaker at Beth El Synagogue – David Thierman, Esq., will be Beth El Synagogue’s guest speaker at the 8 p.m. service. The topic will be “How to Keep and Protect Senior Citizen’s Resources.” Everyone is welcome to attend. Tea and cake will be served following the service. For more information call 823-2725.
Jan. 12 — Tues. Free Brunch & Learn – 10:30 a.m. Rabbi David Weis will be the featured speaker at the JCC. He will discuss current events in Israel and how decisions made 6,000 miles away can effect Jews living in the United States and around the world. Following the discussion will be the film, The Jews of Libya. This thought-provoking documentary, explores the disappearance of Jews in Libya over the course of the nation’s history. Brunch & Learn Events are free and open to the entire community. A bagel brunch will be served. Brunch & Learn is made possible by a generous grant from Lighthouse Planning Consultants. Jan. 14 — Thurs. Cantor Goren at Beth Judah Senior Interest Group – 10:10 a.m. Beth Judah, Ventnor. Everyone is welcome. This is free to the entire community. Jan. 20 — Wed. Judaism Classes at Beth Judah Temple in Wildwood – Rabbi Jeffrey Lipschultz of Beth Judah Temple, Spencer and Pacific avenues in Wildwood, will be giving classes for Jews and non-Jews interested in learning the basics of Judaism, at the temple on Wednesdays, starting Jan. 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The classes are free to members of the congregation. the fee is $10 per class for non-members. Jan. 23 — Tues. January Dinner & Movie – JCC’s Dinner and a Movie event includes a full course meal with salad, soup, entrée and dessert. Dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by the showing of James Dean’s “East of Eden.” Reservations should be made at least one week in advance and paid for either in person or by phone with a credit card. The early bird cost is $11 for JCC members and $13 for nonmembers up to one week before the event. Afterwards, the price increases to $13 M/ $15 NM. Call 609-822-1167 x 113 to register.
Jan. 30 — Sat. PIZMON Concert – PIZMON Concert and Celebration Honoring Retired Jewish Educators – 7:30 p.m. Katz JCC. A free concert and evening including a dessert reception – PIZMON, the a capella group made up of college students from the New York area will feature a program of GLEE for the entire community. This is sponsored by the Board of Jewish Education and the Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties. A great evening of music, good company and offering thanks to those who taught our children over the years from each of our synagogues and day schools. Jan. 31 — Sun. TJCDS Bingo – Trocki Jewish Community Day School is sponsoring a Pasta Dinner and Bingo. 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Dinner includes Bingo.
