The Board of Jewish Education (BJE) is gathering the names and a bit of history about some of our local Jewish educators who are now retired but who, by their devotion to education, added to the lives of our community’s children in so many ways.

Do some of the following names ring a bell? Bank, Blecker, DeShields, Dosovitz, Fox, Hafetz, Katz, Krauss, Lehavy, Letzter, Mizrahi, Pantazes, Pollock, Stanger, Thompson, Waldman, Winkelstein, Zinman?

If you know of others the BJE wants to hear from you. On Saturday night, Jan. 30, 2010, the BJE will offer a free concert to the community featuring the rockin’ but thoughtful sounds of PIZMON, List College’s and JTS’s accapella group for a great tribute concert.
