Abigail Kursheedt Hoffman, 97, died at home in Ft. Lee, N.J. on Sept. 28, 2009. Born in Atlantic City, Mrs. Hoffman was a professor of music at Jersey City State College for fifteen years. She was an undergraduate at the Eastman School of Music and earned graduate degrees from Columbia University.

Mrs. Hoffman was the Founder and Director of the Ventnor Summer Music Festival and the Community Concert Series. She was also a member of the DAR and AAUW.

Mrs. Hoffman was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nathan, and is survived by her loving children Monte Hoffman, George Hoffman and Jane Hoffman Paress; her cherished nine grandchildren and adored seven greatgrandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Hoffman were held on Oct. 1, 2009 at Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union, N.J. Interment followed at Beth Israel Cemetery, Northfield, N.J.
