Jewish Times Approved by N.J. as a Non-Profit The Jewish Times of South Jersey has been approved by the State of New Jersey to change its corporate status from a limited liability company to a non-profit corporation. "The non-profit business model will help us solve the financial problems, such as declining revenue, that have newspapers across the country - large and small - struggling simply to survive," said Jewish Times Publisher Shy Kramer. Kramer said that the non-profit status move was made in the interest of maintaining the vital communication service he feels is so essential to unifying the local community. "As a non-profit newspaper, revenue from subscriptions and advertising will be tax-exempt, and contributions to help support our committed continued goal of informing and educating the community would be tax-deductible." |
