American Ballet Theatre Trip

Congregation Beth Israel is hosting a day trip to see the American Ballet Theatre perform an "All-Prokofiev Celebration" at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City on Wed., June 3, 2009. One of the great composers of the 20th century, Prokofiev is known for the children's ballet, "Peter and the Wolf." The "All-Prokofiev Celebration" will feature Prokofiev's many works, including "The Prodigal Son" staged by Balanchine, "Desire" staged by Kudelka and the world premiere of "On the Dniepr" by Ratmansky, the artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet. Seating is limited. Tickets are $85 per person and include bus transportation to and from New York, and orchestra seating at the matinee performance. The bus departs at 9 a.m. from Congregation Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road in Northfield, N.J.
