BJE's Ivrit B'Kulam Continues All Spring

Summer housing needed for Israeli Camp By The Sea staff
      In 2009, the Milton & Betty Katz JCC will welcome six Israeli counselors from Margate's sister community Arad/ Tamar to work at Camp By The Sea. In the months of June, July and August, these specialists, ages 20-23, teach campers the history and culture of Israel through stories, games, songs, dance and crafts.

CONTACT calls are free and confidential. Our volunteers are eager to help the disabled, elderly, and isolated citizens of Atlantic County and Cape May County who want to continue living independently.

Fun Run Benefiting Breast Cancer
      The Fabulous Feat 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, benefiting the Breast Cancer 3-Day, will be held on May 31 at Veterans Park. Hamilton, New Jersey. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. 1 Mile Fun Run start and 9:00 a.m. 5K start. This is a USAFT certified Grand Prix event and the course is a scenic, traffic-free, flat park course.

Anniversary
     Bess and Ed Rovner will be celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary on May 31. Ed was raised in Atlantic City and graduated from Atlantic City High School and Bess was raised in Philadelphia, having graduated Gratz High School. They were married in Philadelphia in 1942. One day later, while on their honeymoon, Ed was called away to serve in the U.S. Air Force and served his country by teaching courses about radar. The Rovners reside at condominiums at the Plaza in Atlantic City and until recently, Hallandale, Florida. Bess and Ed have three children: Bob, Howard, and Bonnie. Bess and Ed are the proud grandparents of Steven, Danny, Brett, Seth, and Heather Rovner, and greatgrandparents of Jarett, Zack, and Alec. Ed is 90 years of age and Bess is 86.
