LIFSHIN, NACHAMA, 77

Lifshin, Nachama, 77, of Linwood, passed away suddenly at her residence in Brandall Estates on April 13, 2009. She was born in Kajan, Belarus in 1931 as the oldest daughter of Jacob and Rachel Lifshin. She was one of 11 siblings and is survived by one sister, Betty Simon of Ventnor, N. J. and one brother, Baruch Lifshin of Ramat Gan, Israel. She is also survived by Zelda Lifshin, sister in law, and Blanka Lifshin, sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews residing in the United States and Israel.

Nachama was a holocaust survivor who managed to survive World War II by hiding in the forest of Belarus along with her father and siblings. After the War, Nachama immigrated to the United States and resided in Boston, New York and Los Angeles, but eventually came to Linwood, N. J. to be within close proximity to her sister Betty Simon.

Nachama loved to crochet blankets and clothing and her favorite pastime was playing rummy with her sister Betty. Nachama was a very loving and sensitive person and her sister Betty was very devoted to her in every way.

Graveside services were held on April 14 at Beth Kehillah Cemetery, Cardiff, N. J. Donations may be made to the Richard Simon Alzheimers Center at Seashore Gardens, 22 W.
