MLK Beach Service
Please join us for an interfaith service project in memory of Dr. King. We will meet at the Newport Ave. gazebo by the Ventnor Library on Mon. Jan. 19th at 3 p.m. We will be cleaning the beach (where we host Jammin' Jewz every summer), stabilizing the dune by planting dormant grass, and sharing stories and songs of freedom around the campfire. This program is scheduled for the eve of President elect Obama's Inauguration. The entire community is invited to attend. Please dress warmly. You may want to bring gloves, a piece of firewood, or a beach chair. A long-handled rake or shovel might also be helpful. This event is organized by Beth El with the help of Rev. Mark McDowell of Margate Community Church, and the Downbeach Clergy Council. The donuts and hot chocolate will be provided by Shore Memorial Hospital. Also, thanks to Coastal Plants in Maurice, NJ for providing the American Beach Grass. for more information call 823-2725.
