Rabbi Wolpe opens Beth El's Weiss lecture series

Beth El Synagogue at 500 N. Jerome Avenue in Margate will be hosting the Abram & Rose Weiss Lecture Series for the third year. The cost for all three lectures is $15.

The first lecture will be by Rabbi Gerald I. Wolpe, on Sunday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m.

Rabbi Wolpe is Rabbi Emeritus of Har Zion Temple. He is a native of Boston, and was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1953 where he also received a doctorate of divinity. He served as a chaplain in the Second Marine Division and as a pulpit rabbi in Charleston, S.C. and Harrisburg, Pa., before coming to Har Zion in 1969.

The second lecture will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be Rabbi Burton L. Visotzky. The third speaker in the series will be Rabbi Mark Loeb, on Sunday, Sept. 7th at 7:30 p.m.
