Teens to meet with Columbia University Advisor
As part of their 'College 101' class, led by Rabbi Aaron Gaber, a member of the faculty at the High School of Jewish Studies of the Board of Jewish Education, many of the students and their parents will get a chance to enhance their knowledge about various college issues for Jewish teens. Eleventh and twelfth grade students in the program (and their friends) are invited to attend a special program on Tuesday evening, December 16th, 2008 at the HSJS, at Congregation Beth Judah in Ventnor. Rebecca Bromberg, Assistant Director of Adminissions at Columbia University in the City of New York, will be visiting our community to discuss important issues with both parents and teens. She will discuss how Jewish families make decisions about college choice, how to traverse the maze of interests students have and how the goals, hopes and dreams of both students and parents can best be met. The program will take place in two segments that evening. Parents ONLY will meet with Ms. Bromberg at 7:00 pm. From 7:45 to 9:00 pm the 11th and 12th grade students ONLY will meet with Ms. Bromberg. If you have questions please call Linda Kulp at the Board of Jewish Education at 822-1854.
