      Beth El will be having a children's Havdalah workshop on Saturday, Dec. 13, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The children can come in their PJ's, hear a story, have a lite dinner, bagels and cream cheese, dessert and do a Shabbat activity.

Musical Friday Night Services at Beth Judah
      Friday nights at Congregation Beth Judah now include Beth Judah Alive! and Beth Judah Alive! Unplugged service. Beth Judah Alive! is a fully instrumental Friday night service, while Beth Judah Alive! Unplugged is a more relaxed and mellow service which includes acoustic instruments.

Holiday wine tasting to benefit Community Food Bank
      A Holiday Wine Tasting Party will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, at Sofia of Margate, 9314 Amherst Ave., Margate, which will benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Southern Branch. The event, scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. is being sponsored by Sofia Papastemelos, Angela Diamantis and Atlantic County Freeholder Alisa Cooper.

      Chabad invites the entire community to its Community Shabbat Dinner on Friday, at the Chabad House, 6412 Ventnor Ave. Ventnor, on Dec. 12. Enjoy an evening of inspiration, good food, songs, great company and a warm shabbos spirit. Cost is $15 per person. Candle lighting 4:15 p.m., Mincha/Kabbalat Shabbos 4:30 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m.

      On Thursday, Dec. 18, Beth El Hebrew School students, teachers, Rabbi Plotkin and Cantor Goren will be going to Seashore Gardens to sing Chanukah songs, play dreidel games and visit with the residents from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.

      Beth El Hebrew School will be hosting a talent show, latke party and Chanukah candle lighting on Tuesday, Dec. 23. The talent show begins at 4 p.m. followed by the latke party and candle lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. outside the synagogue. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Chai CookOff
      Congegation Beth Judah will hold its first Chai CookOff on Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. The evening will include a Food Networkstyle Iron Chef competition with a kosher twist and a secret ingedient. While you watch the competition you will have a three-course gourmet meal so you can taste the food for yourself. There will also be a silent auction and music (unplugged) by the Change.

New Year's Eve Celebration
      Temple Emeth Shalom in Margate will welcome the New Year 2009 with a 3-D celebration of Dinner, Dancing and Dessert. The festivities begin at 8 p.m. with a buffet dinner, followed by dancing to the music of Tony and great desserts. Reserve your place early as this popular yearly event fills fast. $40 per person, casual attire.

The Richard Simon Center Displays Alzheimer's Quilt
      The Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's of Galloway Township is pleased to display their Alzheimer's quilt for the month of November in honor of National Alzheimer's Disease month. The quilt, produced by members of the Center's monthly Support Group and families in the community, is currently being displayed in the Boardwalk area of Seashore Gardens Living Center.
