Let's make voting easier
      Why is the United States ranked 20th out of 21 established democracies around the globe in voter participation? Only Switzerland has lower voter turnout than in U.S. presidential elections. On November 4, 2008 we saw the highest number of voters go to the polls since l964 - 133.3 million, 66 percent of the 201.5 million who were eligible.

Hiking 'the seam'
      We recently joined ESRA (English-Speaking Residents Assoc.) for an autumn hike along the Amud stream (middle and lower parts) in the Upper Eastern Galilee. The hike started from Ein Koves near the ancient city of Safed - pronounced Tsfat - and traversed the middle and lower parts of Nahal Amud to Kibbutz Hukuk.
