Beth Judah
Friday nights at Congregation Beth Judah now include Beth Judah Alive! and Beth Judah Alive! Unplugged service. Beth Judah Alive! is a fully instrumental Friday night service, while Beth Judah Alive! Unplugged is a more relaxed and mellow service which includes acoustic instruments.
"Both services are filled with lots of ruach (spirit) and will be uplifting. The music adds a special dimension to the traditional service, while maintaining the beauty of Shabbat," said Rabbi Aaron Gaber.
Dates are: Beth Judah Alive! Unplugged,. Nov. 7 and 21; Jan. 9 and 23; Feb. 13; March 13 and 27; May 22 and June 5.
Beth Judah Alive!, Oct. 24; Dec. 12; Feb. 27; April 17; and June 19. Music will include traditional melodies and modern interpretations of Jewish music. For more information, call 822-7116.

On Tues., Oct. 28 the JCC will be serving a full course meal and showing "There Will Be Blood." Dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. and include a full course meal with salad, soup and dessert. Dietary laws will be observed. The JCC's big screen will highlight the 2007 Oscar winning film starring Daniel Day Lewis. For the discounted Dinner & Movie rate, please register one week in advance. Shaloma Hadassah will be holding their next meeting on Wednesday, October 29 at 7:30 at the JCC in Margate.
After the meeting, Mary Conley, President of the Cape May County League of Women Voters, will speak about the league and the upcoming elections.

Synagogue Tour
Located on Manhattan's Lower East Side, an immigrant portal for almost two centuries, 97 Orchard Street was home to an estimated 7,000 people from more than 20 nations between 1863 and 1935. Visitors tour carefully restored apartments and learn about the lives of actual past residents. In addition, we will visit and tour the Central Synagogue, a stunning architectural achievement. Central Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in continual usage in New York City. The design is loosely called "Moorish- Islamic Revival." The trip is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27 and the package includes round trip transportation, bagel breakfast and a private tour of both locations. Cost is $60 for JCC members & $80 for non-members. Friends of Encore Learning of Stockton are pleased to announce that Bay-Atlantic Symphony Musical Director, Jed Gaylin, will partner with world-renown cellist Christopher Miroshnikov to present a dynamic classical music program at the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center of Margate, 501 N. Jerome Ave., on Friday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.

Bus Trip to see the

Orchestra
The Oceanview Chapter of ORT will be sponsoring a trip on Sunday, November 9th to the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia to see the Philadephia Orchestra. Chanukah Bazaar
Have fun shopping for a holiday gift and find a fabulous treasure of your own at Congregation Beth Judah's annual Hanukkah Bazaar, at the temple on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Beth Judah Sisterhood, raises funds for youth programs and activities in the synagogue and surrounding communities.
The Beth Judah Gift Shop will also be open, offering a fine array of Judaica and holiday items.
If shopping makes you hungry, a kosher buffet lunch is available to enjoy. Children will enjoy hands-on fun with the Clay Station. There is free parking.
