ETHEL ROBIN, second woman from the left, is surrounded by her family prior to the Holocaust Torah Dedication Service held on Friday evening, July 25 at the Jewish Community Center of Long Beach Island. Also pictured is Dr. Charles Schleifer, holding the Torah, and his wife Martha, far right. The Schleifers and Robin Family donated the Torah to the Center in honor of Ethel and her late husband Leon. This rescued Torah had been bought by an art dealer to be treated and cut up for use by artists as canvas for their work until it was found in a warehouse in L'viv (Ukraine) by Rabbi Menachem Youlus of the Save A Torah organization.
