JFS holds annual meeting and installation

Anna Feldman of Linwood has been installed as the new president of Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties at the recent JFS annual meeting and installation of officers, held at Congregation Beth Judah in Ventnor with over 100 people attending.

Ms. Feldman, who is known as Sissy, is the wife of local plastic surgeon Marc Feldman and mother of Matt, 20, Jenna, 18 and Jay, 13. She is a native of Pennsylvania, and has lived in this area since 1989.

Ms. Feldman has been a member of the JFS Board for 12 years, serving as chairperson of virtually every committee. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson University, she holds a BSN and was previously a nurse in the burn trauma and cardio-thoracic departments.

Also installed were: Eric Wood and Beverly Rubin as vice-presidents; Brad Jacobson, secretary and Mitchell Gurwicz, treasurer.

Several staff members were honored at the meeting with coveted employee awards chosen by their peers. Receiving awards were Gretchen Raring, for Outstanding Service; Kate Mattelman, the Emerging Professional Award; Leigh Turner, Heart and Soul Award, and Ann Thoresen for Leadership.

Also recognized was Deena Dine who is retiring from JFS after 10 years as Director of Development and Public Relations. Bev Rubin, a member of the JFS Executive Board presented a lovely gift to Deena. Bev thanked Deena for her dedication and hard work that have been a tremendous contribution to the increased awareness and development of JFS.

Before coming to JFS, Deena was the assistant Executive Director of the JCC. She is married to Jim Dine and is the mother of two daughters and proud "Bubby" of Alex Utrecht and Ian Ferdas.
