EMETH SHALOM PRESENTS SALUTE TO STOCKTON
The "Salute to Stockton" summer series begins Friday, July 11, 8 p.m. at Temple Emeth Shalom, 8501 Ventnor Ave., in Margate. The first speaker will be Stockton's communication specialist Tim Kelly whose topic is "He's Jewish...He's Got Game."
Professor Carol Rittner's subject is "Holocaust Studies Update" on July 18.
On August 1st, Professor Jennifer Barr will address "The Portrayal of Women in Advertising and the Media."
Stockton President Herman J. Saatkamp Jr. will discuss "Stockton Community Initiatives" on Friday, August 8, 2008.
Stockton is renowned for its Holocaust Resource Center and Religious Studies program.
Rabbi Gordon Geller of Temple Emeth Shalom has been a faculty member at Stockton for the past 20 years and initiated the speakers program more than 10 years ago.
The series features distinguished scholars who address the congregation from the pulpit during Friday evening services at the Temple.
All are welcome to attend. Following the service, refreshments will be served.
