Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's receives community service award
Betty Simon, widow of the late Richard Simon, accepts the 2008 Community Service award from NJAHSA staff. Standing next to Betty Simon is Martin Klein, President and CEO of Seashore Gardens Living Center and Jan Golembiski, Social Worker and Coordinator for The Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's. The Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's at Seashore Gardens Living Center received the 2008 Community Service Award from the New Jersey Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NJAHSA). This statewide award recognizes a senior-care organization that exemplifies outstanding voluntary service to its neighboring, national, or world community above and beyond its core mission of service to its own residents.
Present to accept the award was Betty Simon, wife of the late Richard Simon, Jan Golembiski, social worker and coordinator for The Richard Simon Center, and Martin Klein, president and CEO of Seashore Gardens Living Center.
"This award is a testament of the dedication our staff have to the senior community. The Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's is continuously expanding its outreach to individuals and family members affected by Alzheimer's who are in need of compassionate counseling services and guidance" said Klein.
Services available through The Richard Simon Center for Alzheimer's include counseling, home visits for cognitive screenings, referrals to professionals specializing in Alzheimer's disease, information about educational seminars, a medication assessment for the Alzheimer's patient, and information about community outreach programs.
